The complete schedule for North Attleborough’s 250th celebration

    The schedule for the two-week celebration is as follows:

    Woodcock Garrison Open House – Sunday, July 5, from noon to 3 p.m.

    Tour the historic Woodcock Garrison House and Gulski Memorial Garden, learn about the signing of the Declaration of Independence, witness the unveiling of a historic church bell and meet Colonial-era reenactors in the Woodcock Burial Grounds.

    “Colonial Cooking at Home & on the Campaign Trail: Comparing Mass. Housewives & Continental Army” – Monday, July 6, from 2-3 p.m.

    The Richards Memorial Library welcomes Stacy Booth, a Foodways Historian, who will speak about rations of a Continental soldier. 

    “Spies and Counterspies: Deception, Espionage, and Treachery during the Revolutionary War” – Tuesday, July 7, at 2 p.m.

    The Richards Memorial Library welcomes Paolo DiGregorio, who will speak about the battles for military intelligence during the American Revolution, including the American and British spies who sought the knowledge that could bring victory in the war. 

     “A Declaration of Sentiments: American Women’s Political Activism, 1776-1848,” – Wednesday, July 8, at 3 p.m.

    The Richards Memorial Library welcomes Dr. Suzanne McCormack, professor of history at the Community College of Rhode Island, where she teaches U.S. history, Black history and women’s history.

    Cultural Council’s Summer Concert Series featuring 4EverFab – Thursday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m.

    4EverFab, a Beatles tribute band, will perform at the town hall gazebo, 43 South Washington St.

    Paint North Attleborough Beautiful at the Farmer’s Market – Saturday, July 11, at 10 a.m.

    Commemorate the 250th with the North Attleborough Cultural Council at the fourth annual plein air competition. Check-in will begin at 10 a.m. at the farmer’s market and artwork must be turned in by 4:30 p.m. Winners will be announced during the Food Truck Festival, with a People’s Choice Award announced during the Liberty & Local: 250th Celebration. 

    Additionally, the 13th Continental Regiment/Rehobeth Minutemen will host an encampment and demonstration from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Farmer’s Market.

    Food Truck Festival with the Dixie Diehards– Saturday, July 11, at 5 p.m.

    Enjoy an evening of food, music, and community at the Food Truck Festival. Attendees can sample a variety of food truck offerings while enjoying a performance by the Dixie Diehards, a traditional jazz band.

    Twice is Nice 2.5 & 5 Mile Road Race – Sunday, July 12, at 8 a.m.

    Run or walk 2.5 miles or 5 miles on a unique loop course at North Attleborough Middle School. Enjoy live music along the route, frozen pops at the finish, race-day discounts at local businesses, and more. Register now at https://tinyurl.com/3h54c79u. 

    Old Towne Church/Powder House Exhibit – Sunday, July 12, at 2 p.m.

    Tour the Old Towne Church/Powder House and hear from G. A. “Paolo” Di Gregorio, the Artifactual Scholar, who has been entertaining and educating audiences across the northeast with tales of history and culture.

    Sons of the American Revolution Pop-up Exhibit – Monday, July 13

    Stop by the Richards Memorial Library’s reading room to see Revolutionary War clothing, munitions, and other items on display throughout the day. Members of the Sons of the American Revolution will be there with a presentation and to answer questions. 

    “Celebrating America’s 250th: The Two Nerdy History Girls Discuss Everyday Life in 1776” (virtual) – Monday, July 13, 7 p.m.

    The Two Nerdy History Girls, authors Loretta Chase and Susan Holloway Scott, will answer questions about the 250th. Registration for the webinar is now live at https://tinyurl.com/ky3kzaav. 

    “Finding the Story: Exploring the American Revolution in North Attleboro and Beyond” – Tuesday, July 14, at 3 p.m.

    The Richards Memorial Library hosts Allison Horrocks, PhD, who is a public historian and National Park Service Ranger. Her lecture explores how people living away from the front lines of the American Revolution experienced this period of great change.

    Liberty & Local: 250th Celebration – Wednesday, July 15, from 5-8 p.m.

    Join the North Attleborough Small Business Collaborative for a special summer evening event celebrating America’s 250th anniversary while showcasing the heart of downtown North Attleborough. This block-party-style community event will feature local restaurants, artisan and maker vendors, live music, shopping, family-friendly activities, patriotic-themed experiences and interactive entertainment throughout downtown.

    Kids Day Festival – Thursday, July 16, through Sunday, July 19

    North Attleboro Firefighter’s Kids Day is returning for its 46th annual fundraising carnival at the North Attleboro Middle School at 520 Landry Ave. The four-day event consists of food, music, carnival rides, a fire truck parade, fireworks, and many other activities.

    On Thursday, July 16, Rikki Rocksteady and Nickel Jukebox will take center stage at the Kids Day Festival. 

    Saturday, July 18, the annual Kid’s Day Fire Truck Parade returns. Following the traditional parade route, the event will feature a special 250th celebration contingent through the town center, showcasing performers, musicians, floats, community organizations and more. The parade begins at 11 a.m. at Mason Field and offers a unique opportunity to celebrate both the community’s traditions and America’s 250th birthday.

    On Saturday, July 18, the North Attleborough Community Band will perform before and during the fireworks display.
