The senior center, in partnership with Sturdy Health, will host a free four-week Diabetes Education Series for community members. The Diabetes Education Series will be held on Wednesdays from May 6 through May 27, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Attleborough Senior Center, 451 Elm St.
“This series is a wonderful opportunity for older adults to gain the knowledge and confidence needed to better manage their health,” said Director Karen Testa. “We are committed to offering programs that empower our community to live healthier, more independent lives.”
This series, open to adults of all ages, is designed to provide valuable information, practical tools, and support for individuals living with diabetes or those looking to reduce their risk. This educational program will cover a range of important topics, including:
- Understanding diabetes and its impact on overall health.
- Everyday diabetes management, including insulin basics, reducing stress and physical activity.
- Nutrition and lifestyle, such as how meals impact blood sugar, label reading and healthy swaps.
- Monitoring blood sugar and managing medications.
- Preventing complications and improving quality of life.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn from knowledgeable professionals in a supportive, welcoming environment while connecting with others who share similar health goals.
