Story Time, ages 0-7—Come to the downstairs meeting room for stories, songs and a dimple craft. This event takes place at 10 a.m.
Community Fiber Arts Circle—Come crochet, knit, embroider, and weave with fellow fiber crafters. Beginners welcome. There will be no direct teaching of fiber arts, but community guidance and sharing of ideas are greatly encouraged. Work on a project, make new friends, and bounce ideas off of each other.
Open to all ages and experience levels (recommended for ages 12- Adult). Please call the library (508)-699-0122 for more information. This event will be held at 3:30 p.m.
Free tech help—Volunteer Ben Elliott, a computer support specialist, is hosting free IT hours at the library from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. If you need one-on-one help with a laptop, smartphone, or general tech stuff, please schedule an appointment by registering at https://befreeit.org/ or ask library staff for help.
Elliot also offers free tech help at Wrentham’s Fiske Public Library on Tuesdays, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Plainville Public Library on Fridays, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Mystery/Thriller Book Group—Calling all mystery/suspense readers, there’s a new book group for you. This group will meet every other month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. to enjoy and discuss contemporary and classic mystery/thriller titles. The first read is “We Lie Here” by Rachel Howzell Hall. Copies of the book will be available on the bookshelf near the Reference desk.

STEAM Cart—STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. There will be a different activity out each day. STEAM cart days are for children ages 3+ with an adult. Activities take place in the Children’s Room, are free play and not librarian led. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Narcan training—This Narcan training is free and open to the public. These trainings are organized by the North Attleborough Opioid Task Force and hosted by the SAFE Coalition.
During this training, attendees will:
– Learn how to recognize the signs of an overdose.
– Learn how to administer Narcan, a life-saving medication that reverses a known or suspected opioid-related overdose.
– Practice administering the drug.
Attendees will also receive two 4mg doses of Narcan to take with them. Anyone with questions can contact the Health Department at 508-699-0100 Ext. 2560.

Adult Book Group—This month’s read is “The Winemaker’s Wife” by Kristin Harmel. Copies are available in the Reference area on the first floor. This event will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Unlock the Hidden Power of Dreams (VIRTUAL)—Learn how to harness your dreams to improve your sleep and health with dream engineer Dr. Michelle Carr. In Nightmare Obscura, Dr. Carr unlocks the science behind the sleeping body. Drawing on her expertise in nightmares, lucid dreaming, and the cutting-edge field of dream engineering, she reveals how we can revolutionize our sleeping—and waking—health.
To most, dreams are things that slip away when we reemerge into the waking world, their remnants jumbled up and only half recalled. At their best, they are populated by pleasant recollections and surreal experiences. But at their worst, they can be traumatizing and prevent us from receiving the necessary benefits of sleep. This event can be registered for through the library website and begins at 2 p.m.
Youth Advisory Council—The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) at the Richards Memorial Library is made up of teens between the ages of 13 and 17 who love to read and share opinions and who would like to be more involved in the library. YAC teens help shape the Young Adult book collection and space, discussing and helping choose books to add to the collection, brainstorming and helping plan programs, putting up displays, etc. YAC runs during the school year from October to May and meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. As a member of YAC, students are guaranteed the opportunity to complete their 10 hour community service requirement, as well as opportunities for more hours.
