A bomb threat was discovered at North Attleborough Middle School yesterday, resulting in an increased police presence for the rest of the week.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., a student alerted school administrators to the message, which was written on a bathroom wall.

School officials acted swiftly, immediately notifying the on-premise school resource officer and the North Attleborough Police Department. The matter is under investigation, but police have stated that they do not believe there is a credible threat at this time.

Superintendent John Antonucci addressed the situation, calling the incident “disappointing” and “a big disturbance to the school day.”

In an email released to families, Antonucci wrote,

“Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased police presence at the school for the remainder of the week… We take situations like this very seriously and are committed to completing a thorough investigation…We want to commend the student for coming forward and sharing this information.”

The school district is working closely with the North Attleborough Police to identify the individual responsible for the graffiti. The investigation remains ongoing, with the district committed to completing a thorough review of the incident.
