Sixty acres were searched on land and in the air Sunday morning in an effort to find a possible missing person.
According to information provided by the North Attleborough Fire Department, multiple calls came in at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, reporting a person calling for help in the woods near Brookside Way.
Due to numerous reports from Sheldonville Road residents, the response was increased to multiple agencies, including Cumberland, Attleboro, Plainville, and Mansfield, along with Mass State Police and Bristol County Rescue Team.
“As assets started to arrive a large scale search and rescue operation was organized,” the department stated.
Along with a ground search that included fire and police search teams, UTVs, and the Massachusetts State Police K9, an Airwing and drone asset were used. During this extended incident off-duty personnel, Attleboro Fire, Plainville Fire and Mansfield Fire covered the town.
At 1:30 p.m., the scene was cleared after no person was located.
