Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrisey and the Mass State Police are seeking any dashcam or video footage of the Feb. 3 shooting that took the life of a North Attleborough resident.
In a release posted earlier this week, Morrissey stated that State Police detectives investigating the shooting on Route 95 that led to the death of Justin R. Parker are looking for footage “that may have been captured between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. along the Route 95 south corridor from Waltham to the Rhode Island Line, or along the Route 3/93 corridor from Boston or Weymouth, through Milton and Canton, to 95 South.”
The driver is currently believed to have merged from one of those directions onto Route 95 South at about 9:20 p.m.
“We are asking truck drivers, rideshare drivers, or anyone who employs a dash cam or who might otherwise have captured footage along those roadways during that time frame to contact us at 781-327-9801,” said Morrissey, whose office is investigating the homicide. “We have developed certain information that may help us to identify distinctive features on the car driven by the shooter.”
The shooting occurred at 10 p.m. when Parker was driving a black Mercedes on I-95 in Foxboro. Parker was then allegedly shot by the driver of a dark-colored sedan. The Mercedes then swerved into a Lexus SUV driven by a family. The SUV crashed into the woods adjacent to the highway while the Mercedes swerved into the center of the interstate, according to police.
Parker was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he was pronounced dead. The family inside the Lexus SUV did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
Additional detail on the possible appearance of the car is not being published outside law enforcement at this time, Morrissey added, although that step may come later in the investigation.
“We are not asking people to go back through their video footage themselves and make determinations of any kind – we are asking them to call so that we can arrange to have police view the footage,” Morrissey said. “Given where we are in the investigation, this could lead to identifying the shooter who killed Justin R. Parker.”
