Sturdy Memorial Hospital will be holding an informational meeting open to the public from 5-6 p.m. in the Hospital Auditorium to discuss trends identified in the Hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment. All are welcome to attend.
As part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act enacted in 2010, all 501 (c)(3) hospital organizations are required to complete a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every three years. The assessment evaluates the health needs of individuals living in the hospital’s service areas within Bristol and Norfolk counties. The aim of the assessment is to reinforce the Hospital’s commitment to the health of its residents, and align its health prevention efforts with the community’s greatest health needs.

Wednesday, Sept. 18
Survivors: Hope and Resilience in The Time of Ebola,” and Emmy nominated documentary, will host a screening and director’s talk from 6-8 p.m. at Bristol Community College. This event is free and open to the public.
Come to Branches of North Attleborough and listen to the sounds of Sinatra with Michael Dutra from 5-7 p.m. on the patio. Enjoy seasonal small plates and time with friends at our end of summer party. This is an event you won’t want to miss.

Friday, Sept. 20
Bill Staines, a New England native, folk singer and song writer, is stopping in town for one of his annual 200 concerts. He travels about 65,000 miles a year and will perform at the First Baptist Church, 75 Park St., on at 7 p.m.. The event is part of the celebration of the church’s 250th anniversary. This concert is for all ages.
Bill is one of a few songwriters to have seven songs published in the classic song collection, Rise up Singing. He has sung on Garrison Keilor’s A Prairie Home Companion, HBO’s series Deadwood, and Public Radio’s Mountain Stage. As a writer his music has been used in a number of films including Off and Running, with Cyndi Lauper, and The Return of the Secaucus Seven, John Sayles, writer-director.

Saturday, Sept. 21
The First Congregational Church UCC of North Attleborough (Oldtown Church) is hosting a Pot Roast Supper at 6 p.m. The menu includes home-cooked pot roast with gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetable, rolls, desert and beverage, served family style.
The price is $13 for adults, and $4 for children 10 years old and under. $1 of each adult meal served will go to the Food Forward mission, to help feed those in need. Serving begins promptly at 6 p.m., so please plan to check in around 20 minutes in advance.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling Ed at 508-212-4774. Take-out orders are also accepted. The Vestry hall is handicap accessible through the rear entrance.
Oldtown Church is located at 675 Old Post Road, North Attleborough.
The public is invited to an open house and genealogy workshop from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at The Old Peck House on the corner of North Main and Elizabeth Streets in Attleboro. The tours, hosted by members of the Attleboro Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, will give participants the opportunity to learn about the history of this circa 1723 house, one of the oldest buildings in the city and to experience a piece of life in the 1700s.
Those who wish to explore their ancestry will be given tips on how to start their genealogical search .This annual educational program, presented in a museum like setting, is a free event.
Friday, Sept. 27
Come celebrate the beginning of autumn at the Catholic Community of North Attleboro Fall Festival held at St. Mark’s Church, 105 Stanley St., Attleboro Falls. This year it will open on Friday, Sept. 27, from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The days will include a wide variety of activities, foods, and raffles.
Visit the Crafters’ Corner with handmade items, What-Not-Shoppe, book room, baked goods, Wine Wheel, and religious articles booths. Head to the Red Lion Cafe for lunch or a delicious sweet, all located in the basement of the church in the parish hall.
There are cash raffle prizes totaling $3,500, a raffle with theme baskets, various items donated by local restaurants and businesses, and an expanded silent auction.
Saturday, Sept. 28
The North Attleboro Firebarn Preservation Society, Inc., is holding its Fall Psychic Fair at the Falls Firebarn located at 100 Commonwealth Ave. from 12-5 p.m.
Join the psychics, mediums, animal communicators, Tarot cards, stones, angel card readers, and more on both the first and second floors of the museum. The cost for a 15-minute reading is $20 with a $2 admission fee which includes a raffle ticket for the door prizes. Refreshments will be provided.

The First United Methodist Church of North Attleborough will host its Arrival of the Pumpkins. The pumpkins will be arriving on the Hill (rain or shine!) at 9 a.m. and help is needed unloading and setting up the patch for the next 33 days of pumpkin sales. All are welcome. Once the patch is open for business, hours will be Sunday-Friday 12-7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

The 10th annual PAR 4 PETS Golf Tournament will be held at Chemawa Golf Course. Registration will be at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $120 and includes 18 holes golf cart, buffet lunch, gift bag, and more.
