Bristol County Savings Bank announced that its Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation awarded $2,862,888 in grants in 2025, including $245,745 directly supporting basic human needs through food and nutrition initiatives and emergency assistance programs.

The bank distributed the funds to 282 different nonprofits within the communities it serves, including Taunton, Attleboro, Raynham, Rehoboth, New Bedford, Dartmouth and Fall River, and Providence, Pawtucket, Cumberland and Greenville, Rhode Island. It was the sixth consecutive year that the bank awarded grants totaling more than $2 million.

In addition, the employees gave 8,821 hours of their time in 2025 through involvement on non-profit boards and committees, at community events and during the bank’s BCSB CARES: Employee Volunteer Day.

The foundation’s purpose is to support the needs that contribute to the economic and the social well-being of the people and institutions located in the greater Taunton/Attleboro region, the SouthCoast Region and the greater Providence, Rhode Island region, with particular emphasis in the areas of education and literacy, economic development and housing for the low- to moderate-income population.

“We have been a community bank since our founding 180 years ago and are proud to consistently be one of the most philanthropic financial institutions in the region. This, in turn, has given our communities the confidence to know that they can count on us when in need,” said John Silva, president and CEO at Bristol County Savings Bank and President of the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation. “Our community focus is realized each year by the awarding grants through our Foundation and sharing the time and expertise of our staff with local non-profits.”
