Thursday, Feb. 19

Minecraft Clay Bobbleheads—Calling all young crafters and Minecraft fans ages 8-12. Sculpt a Minecraft-inspired bobblehead characters using air-dry clay. Create a separate head and body so the character’s head can swivel. Finish off the piece with acrylic paint before taking it home.

Registration is required. This program is sponsored by the Friends Of The Richards Memorial Library. It will take place in the meeting room at 10 a.m.

Chocolate Olympics—Celebrate the Winter Olympics with the Chocolate Olympics. Participants will rotate through chocolate-inspired challenge stations including candy sorting races, spoon balance relays, pudding Pictionary, guessing games, and more. Earn chocolate prizes along the way and cheer on finalists in a blindfolded chocolate taste-test showdown. Fun for teens ages 12 and older – no athletic skills required, just a love of chocolate and silliness. This will take place at 2 p.m. and can be registered for. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the library.

Free tech help—Volunteer Ben Elliott, a computer support specialist, is hosting free IT hours at the library from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. If you need one-on-one help with a laptop, smartphone, or general tech stuff, please schedule an appointment by registering at https://befreeit.org/ or ask library staff for help.

Elliot also offers free tech help at Wrentham’s Fiske Public Library on Tuesdays, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Plainville Public Library on Fridays, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Community Fiber Arts Circle—Come crochet, knit, embroider or weave with fellow fiber crafters. Beginners are welcome. There will be no direct teaching of fiber arts, but community guidance and sharing of ideas are greatly encouraged. Work on a project, make new friends, and bounce ideas off of each other. Open to all ages and experience levels (recommended for ages 12- adult). Please call the library (508)-699-0122 for more information. This event takes place at 3:30 p.m. in the meeting room.

Friday, Feb. 20

Blood Pressure and Books—Did you know that an estimated 47% of U.S. adults over the age of 20 have high blood pressure? Come to the library for a free blood pressure screening and leave with a free book of your choice. This program is a collaboration among the library, the town’s Health Department, and the Northern Bristol County Public Health Alliance. No registration necessary.

Saturday, Feb. 21

STEAM Cart—STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. There will be a different activity out each day. STEAM cart days are for children ages 3+ with an adult. Activities take place in the Children’s Room, are free play and not librarian led. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Indoor LED Mini-Golf—One Up Games returns to the Richards Memorial Library with their popular indoor LED mini golf. Play against friends and family in nine holes around the inside of the library. This program is sponsored by The Friends Of Richards Memorial Library and takes place at 11 a.m.

Monday, Feb. 23

Story Time—Come to the downstairs meeting room for stories, songs and a dimple craft. This event takes place at 10 a.m.

Graphic Novel Book Club–Come talk about graphic novels with other kids ages 8-12. A snack and craft are provided. This month’s novel is “Hilo: The Boy Who Crashed To Earth.”

Poet Laureate Meet and Greet—Come for a special Meet and Greet with the town’s inaugural Poet Laureate, Kayla Roy. Celebrate this new chapter in the North Attleborough community with an evening of conversation, creativity and connection. Learn about the Poet Laureate’s upcoming projects, hear some of her work, and see how poetry will be woven into town life—and how to can be a part of it. This takes place in the meeting room at 6:30 p.m. No registration required.
