The Attleboro Area Industrial Museum (AAIM) is now accepting letters of interest from individuals eager to serve on its board of directors and several committees.

This open call invites community members who are passionate about nonprofits, museums, public spaces, and the preservation and sharing of industrial history to help guide the museum’s continued growth and impact.

AAIM seeks board members who live or work in Bristol County or Norfolk County, Massachusetts, or Providence County, Rhode Island, and bring diverse professional and lived experiences. Ideal candidates include—but are not limited to—lawyers, educators, historians, accountants, business owners, community activists, those in press relations, nonprofit professionals and civic leaders.

The AAIM Board of Directors serves as the museum’s highest leadership body, overseeing its long-term care, strategic direction and alignment with its mission. Board members are appointed annually for renewable one-year terms and play a vital role in ensuring the museum’s sustainability, relevance, and community engagement.

    Board responsibilities include:

    • Interpreting and executing goals related to AAIM’s mission
    • Strategic and organizational planning
    • Fiduciary oversight and financial management
    • Strengthening public visibility, outreach, and community engagement
