According to Massachusetts State Police, officers dispatched on Wednesday, Aug. 30, to the I-295 and I-95 interchange in North Attleborough arrived at the site of the incident by 6:30 a.m. They found a heavily damaged black car that had crashed into a 2007 Mack 600 Market Basket truck.

The driver of the car, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to State Police. The condition of the truck driver has not been released by officials.

Traffic on I-295 slowed to a crawl as lanes were closed until 10 a.m.

An investigation into the crash is currently being conducted.

The crash and fatality is the second one this week in the North Attleborough area.

On Aug. 28, a multi-vehicle crash on I-95 resulted in the death of a 58-year-old man from Foxboro.
