North Attleborough’s downtown bustled with activity on Aug. 21 as the Downtown Associates of North Attleborough (DANA) hosted its annual Back to School Shuffle.

The event, reminiscent of trick-or-treating but with a scholarly twist, saw 140 kids visiting more than 30 downtown businesses to collect school supplies and other goodies. Businesses without a downtown storefront set up shop in the Masonic Lodge, ensuring they could still contribute to the cause.

The beautiful sunny weather provided the perfect backdrop for this heartwarming community event. As families strolled through downtown, collecting supplies and connecting with local businesses, the spirit of mutual support was palpable.

DANA President Maureen Merigold expressed her enthusiasm about the event’s success.

“The best prizes and baskets we’ve seen in a while…the turnout was great,” she remarked.

Merigold emphasized the importance of community and businesses supporting the people who support them. She also remarked on how the event is part of a larger initiative to help the families of North Attleborough.

Looking ahead, DANA is already planning its next community event. Mark the calendars for Sunday, Oct. 20, for “Halloween in the Park.” If the success of the back-to-school event is any indication, it’s sure to be another fantastic opportunity for community engagement and family fun.

Events like these demonstrate the strength of North Attleborough’s community spirit and the commitment of local businesses to give back to their customers.
