The North Attleborough Fire Department responded to multiple incidents Monday morning, including a deck fire at the Ledges Condominiums and a vehicle crash, with assistance from neighboring fire departments and off-duty North Attleborough firefighters, according to an announcement from the town.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, the NAFD was dispatched to the Ledges Condominiums on Mount Hope Street for a report of smoke in the building and a possible deck fire.
First-arriving fire apparatus found a deck fire that had extended up the side of the building and had been extinguished by the homeowner. Firefighters conducted overhaul operations, ensuring the fire had not spread and evacuating smoke from the building.
While NAFD firefighters were at this incident, another 911 call came in, reporting smoke coming from a mobile home off Plain Street. Mutual aid from Plainville and Attleboro, along with NAFD chief officers, were dispatched.
Upon arrival, no fire was found, and crews determined the smoke was coming from a grill.
While mutual aid apparatus were clearing from the Plain Street incident, another call came in for a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Commonwealth and North avenues.
Off-duty North Attleborough firefighters staffing a reserve engine, along with mutual aid ambulances, responded to the crash to treat and transport injured parties.
