North Attleborough Schools will be closed from March 16-20, and conditions will be assessed to see if this needs to continue past that date.
In a statement made Friday afternoon, Superintendent Scott Holcomb said this was done “out of an abundance of caution for the health of our students and staff.” In addition, effective immediately, all school and non-school related events scheduled have been canceled until further notice.
“This closure was taken as a mitigation measure as it may halt person to person spread of the COVID-19 virus,” wrote Holcomb. “At this moment in time, there have been no confirmed or presumptive cases in North Attleborough.”
In accordance with state regulations, these days will be made up at the end of the school year through June 26. This will now be the last day of school regardless of any further cancellations.
