The town’s Opioid Task Force has reopened its Opioid Impact Grant Program for a new round of applications.
The town recently approved nine grant applications through the program and is now accepting additional applications from North Attleborough residents directly impacted by the opioid crisis, as well as nonprofits, sober homes and other eligible organizations serving North Attleborough residents.
The Opioid Impact Grant Program is funded through the town’s opioid settlement funds and is designed to direct resources toward prevention, treatment, recovery and harm reduction efforts in the community.
During FY2026, the town distributed approximately $40,500 through the grant program to individuals impacted by the opioid crisis, sober homes and community organizations. Funding helped support needs including housing and moving costs, sober home rent, vehicle repairs and safety improvements at recovery residences.
The program is part of the broader work of the North Attleborough Opioid Task Force, which was formed in October 2024 to identify community needs and recommend investments of the opioid settlement funds. The task force’s work has been guided by outreach to residents, sober homes, nonprofits, treatment providers and other community stakeholders.
Two applications will be available during the upcoming grant period:
Individual grants
Only North Attleborough residents directly impacted by the opioid crisis are eligible to apply. Applicants will be required to provide proof of residency, their two most recent pay stubs or SSI/SSDI payments, a letter of reference from a sober home manager or sponsor and an official quote for the service being requested.
Applicants will meet with the human services coordinator as part of the process. Failure to provide the required documentation following that meeting may result in a delay or denial of the application.
Organization grants
Organizations must provide proof that they serve North Attleborough residents and an official quote for the service being requested. Applicants will also meet with the human services coordinator and must provide all required documentation for their application to be considered.
Applications are now open and will close at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15. A 30-day review period will begin once the application window closes.
