Winston

Check out Winston! This cutie is an estimated 1-year-old neutered male American Eskimo. He is current on vaccines and microchipped. Since he was a pup, poor Winston had been passed around through multiple owners due to unstable housing situations and owner medical issues.

Because of this, Winston is a nervous with new people and is very guarded with his person and certain objects. When in a kennel he is highly anxious, partially due to the other barking dogs, and partially due to not having a person by his side. Once Winston leaves the kennel area, he becomes much calmer when hanging in the office and shows signs of becoming a “Velcro” dog with his new owner, so someone that is home often or works from home would be ideal, as he wants to be with you always.

Winston will definitely need some leash training as he just wants to go, go, go when walking. For a little guy he’s quite the puller. The perfect home for Winston would be one with an owner who is experienced with guarding, nervous/anxious dogs, no kids and if possible, no other dogs. We have not seen him interact with cats so we are unsure how he would be with them.

If interested in Winston, you can fill out an adoption application online at www.nattleboro.com, or you can pick one up at the shelter.
