Community members are informed that rain barrels, compost bins and food scrap buckets are now available at the Solid Waste Department.
Residents can purchase and pick up the barrels and accessories at the Solid Waste Department Office, 777 Mt. Hope Street, during normal business hours with cash or check. Business hours include Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. For those who cannot pick up the barrel or bin at the time of purchase, other arrangements can be made.
The department has six green barrels ($61.00/each), 14 gray barrels ($61.00/each), four unpainted black barrels ($56.00/each), four terra cotta barrels ($52.00/each), four brown barrels ($61.00/each), three large diverters ($35.00/each), five small diverters ($30.00/each) and one bag of stones ($24.00/bag) available for residents to purchase. Quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
