Massachusetts State Rep. Adam Scanlon has secured another term in office, bringing renewed focus on local development and community well-being to the 14th Bristol District.

Scanlon, in a statement following his reelection on Tuesday, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm, saying, “I feel blessed, thankful, and excited.”

Reflecting on his priorities for the upcoming term, Scanlon emphasized the importance of “advocating for the constituents…and bringing in investments.”

Scanlon’s Republican opponent, David Cannata Jr., could not immediately be reached for comment.

His ongoing advocacy has already helped secure key funding for North Attleborough in the recently signed FY25 state budget by Gov. Maura Healey. Among the allocations are $65,000 for a new senior center, $50,000 for an ADA-accessible playground at Martin Elementary School, and $10,000 for KyleCares Inc., a local mental health nonprofit.

Recognizing the importance of bipartisanship, Scanlon said, “We need to monitor the affordability issues by working with people across the political spectrum.” He emphasized his commitment to inclusivity, noting, “I not only listen to people with different opinions, I make sure they have a seat at the table.”

On Election Day, outside North Attleborough High School, Scanlon highlighted his commitment to investing in essential local projects, such as improving water quality, addressing Kelley Boulevard traffic, and restoring the Ten Mile River. He also aims to secure a high reimbursement from the Massachusetts School Building Authority for the planned high school building project.

Scanlon acknowledged the efforts of North Attleborough’s election commission and praised Pat Dolan for overseeing “another very well-run election” that was “secure and as smooth as possible.”

Scanlon’s reelection signals a continued commitment to tackling North Attleborough’s challenges through a collaborative approach. With plans to address local infrastructure, education, and mental health resources, he aims to bridge political divides and prioritize community-driven solutions. As he steps into the new term, Scanlon’s focus remains clear: building a North Attleborough that’s inclusive, resilient, and prepared for the future.
