North Attleborough Firefighter James O’Connor has been placed on administrative leave following an arrest on drunk driving charges.

O’Connor was arraigned in Wareham District Court on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and causing serious injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to yield at an intersection. He is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing on June 9.

A judge ordered O’Connor to refrain from alcohol and submit to random testing during the course of the proceedings.

North Attleborough Firefighter James O’Connor has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation,” wrote Fire Chief Christopher Coleman in a statement sent to the Reporter. “As this is a personnel matter, at the advice of counsel, no further information will be released at this time.”
