Blast off with Books student book drive

In partnership with the North Attleborough Police Department, the Office of Representative Adam J. Scanlon is kicking off an inaugural children’s Blast off with Books student book drive. We believe in the importance of empowering children by supporting early literacy and an equitable education for all as we navigate significant mental health challenges that COVID-19 has brought to light.

Studies have shown that reading reduces stress, encourages open communication, the development of empathy, and the promotion of positive social skills. The drive will collect picture books that will be distributed amongst the classes throughout North Attleborough.

Stop by and visit during collection days: Saturday, March 12, and Saturday, March 26, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at the North Attleborough Police Department. Alternatively, books can be dropped off in the police department lobby 24 hours a day from March 6-26.
