The North Attleborough Historical Commission will host an open house at the historic Holmes School and Memorial Hall on Sunday, Sept. 26, noon-3 p.m. The address is 615-623 Hoppin Hill Ave., North Attleborough. Activities include:
- Ring the bell at the Holmes One Room School House
- Share the memories of going to school in the early 1950s with students who attended the school
- See the architect’s plans for renovating Memorial Hall into a public meeting space
- Take pictures on a 1950s farm tractor
- Enjoy seasonal refreshments

Attleboro Chapter of DAR open house
The Peck House, located at 2 Elizabeth St., Attleboro, (Across from the CVS on North Main Street), owned by the Attleboro Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will be open for visitors on Sept. 25, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to come explore and learn about the house’s almost 300 year history.
Celebrating the 120th year as a chapter, please stop by for a peek into the past and to hear about the DAR of today and its mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
Anderson House clothing drive fundraiser

The Anderson House in Attleboro is holding a clothing drive on Thursday, Sept. 30, and Friday, Oct. 1, 5-8 p.m. Goods will be donated to Savers, and all proceeds will benefit the historic 1896 Anderson House, which provides a safe, convenient, and fun meeting place for local Girl Scouts from kindergarten through high school.
Clothes, shoes, linens, and accessories are being collected. Please place items in tall kitchen garbage bags (13 gallon) or smaller. The Anderson House is located at 15 Fourth St. in Attleboro.

Oldtown Church Pet Vaccination Clinic
The First Congregational Church UCC of North Attleborough (Oldtown Church) will hold its next pet vaccination clinic for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 675 Old Post Road, North Attleborough. Please call / text 508-212-4774 or email eclavette@oldtownucc.org for information, fees and to make an appointment for vaccinations, heart-worm tests, or deworming. Vaccinations and tests are individually priced, without additional clinic or other fees.
Rhode Island residents and walk-ins are welcome. Preregistration via phone or text is preferred. Appropriate social distancing is encouraged. Pets will be received outside the building and returned afterward.
All cats must be in carriers and dogs must be on leashes, with muzzles as necessary. Services will be provided by Dr. Peter Granville DVM. The entrance for the vaccination clinic is in back of the church, to the rear of the parking lot, follow the signs. Please remain in the vehicle until called.
Fall Yard Sale at United Methodist Church
Plainville United Methodist Church (16 East Bacon St., Plainville) will hold a fall yard sale on Sept. 25, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Donations are needed and greatly appreciated. There are plenty of seasonal Halloween costumes for sale.
Due to the continued use of the Bowmar Hall by the Food Pantry, yard sale donations should be dropped off at the church on Monday, Sept. 20 and Tuesday, Sept. 21 between 9–11:30 a.m. or between noon and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, or Friday, Sept. 24. Large furniture, computers/printers, TVs or clothing cannot be accepted for this sale.
Come shop for yard sale treasures and munch on some delicious home-made baked goods available for purchase. Hot coffee and lunch available, too.
