The #MaddyStrong fundraiser, delayed by the COVID pandemic, is set to return on Friday, Sept. 10, at the North Attleborough Elks on 52 Bulfinch St. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under. There will be food, entertainment, a 50/50 raffle, gift basket raffles and #MaddyStrong merchandise.
For ticket details, call Doreen at 508-740-7354, Maura at 617-650-0159, or Dee at 774-254-7464. The event will run from 6-11 p.m.
Madison Mayo, 19, of North Attleborough, was diagnosed in early 2020 with a serious medical condition resulting in surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her right temporal lobe. Due to the very rare and aggressive nature of this type of cancer, Madison is considered high surveilance and will continue to be seen by several teams of doctors at Mass General Brigham, Boston Children’s Hospital, The Jimmy Fund, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to find the best immediate and long-term treatment as she continues to move forward.
Madison’s medical situation has obviously taken, and will continue to take, a great emotional and financial toll on her family. Prior to Madison’s diagnosis, she was a typical student enjoying her senior year of high school at Tri-County High School with her twin sister Mackenzie. Today she is a sophomore attending Dean College majoring in Early Childhood Education.
