Council appoints new Town Planner

With great support, the Town Council voted unanimously to approve the appointment of Nancy Durfee as the new Town Planner.

Durfee will take the position in early June, succeeding Jennifer Carloni, who recently announced her resignation after a brief time with North Attleborough. Durfee has a wide range of experience, working in Scituate for five years as the Coastal Resource Officer, developing plans to alleviate the frequent flooding that the town sees.

Durfee has also worked for the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District (SRPEDD). She is currently in Somerset, helping the town transition its coal power plants to new uses.

I had a really good interview process,” said Durfee. “We had a great discussion on North Attleborough and moving you forward.”

Town Manager Michael Borg said that a number of people applied for the role, and interviewing Durfee was among the best. The two spoke about the town and how they could improve it, and he said that Durfee expressed interest in working on any and all projects.

She said she wants to tackle the hard stuff and move the town forward,” said Borg.
