A 33-year-old man was arrested in Swansea on Friday and charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of a North Attleborough man, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
Adam Walker, who has a last known address in East Providence, R.I., was taken into custody by members of the DA’s Massachusetts State Police Unit, investigators with the North Attleborough Police Department and Swansea Police. Walker was charged with murder, carrying an illegal firearm, and carrying a loaded illegal firearm.
The defendant will be held in jail through the weekend and arraigned on the charges Tuesday in Attleboro District Court.
North Attleborough Police, Mass State Police Detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office and homicide unit prosecutors continue to actively investigate the case.
North Attleborough Police responded to 64 High St. Wednesday afternoon around 4:01 pm for a reported shooting incident. When first responders arrived at the apartment building, they located the male victim inside his apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, Peter Schifone, 38, was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he was later pronounced deceased.
