North Attleborough Fire Log, Feb. 1-8

From Feb. 1-Feb. 8, the North Attleborough Fire Department responded to 130 calls for emergency assistance.

88 of these were Emergency Medical responses, with 62 requiring ALS intervention

10 Motor Vehicle Collisions with reported injuries

5 carbon monoxide alarm sounding

4 outside/illegal burns

2 chemical/gas leak investigations

The remaining responses were due to a variety of otherwise unspecified reasons.

The permitted burning season runs from January through April and entails several safety requirements. The burning of yard debris (leaves, brush), construction materials, or rubbish is against fire regulations no matter the time of year. Brush fires can accidentally start from many sources and with the increased fire load added during autumn, everyone should remain vigilant of the dangers present and be safe.
