Though the COVID-19 pandemic is making the normal birthday celebrations impossible, that doesn’t mean the party has to stop.
Bella Sova got to mark her 10th birthday with a drive-through parade on Sunday, Sept. 20. The vehicles included a North Attleborough Police escort and two classic cars. Bella said she is a big fan of these, and was excited to find that one of her gifts included a model kit for a 1970 Dodge Charger.
“They look so cool,” she said of the cars.
This is the second birthday parade that Bella’s mother Joan Gonsalves has organized. On May 31, she arranged another for her son Matthew Gonsalves-Sova, to celebrate his 12th birthday. Knowing how much Bella likes classic cars, Joan posted to a North Attleborough group on Facebook to ask if any were available. A member of the group shared the post and soon enough, the cars were ready to go.
“I would have loved to add a VW Bug,” said Joan.
Bella is a fourth-grader at Community School and said that she’s happy to see her teacher again. Though her family wanted to keep this a surprise, Bella joked that she expected it.
“I’ve been to a bunch of these,” she said.
