Patrick Reynolds endorsed by Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts

Patrick Reynolds, Democratic candidate for State Representative in the 14th Bristol District seat formerly held by Betty Porier, has been endorsed by the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts (PFFM). On behalf of its over 12,000 members, including firefighters in the North Attleborough, Attleboro, and Mansfield Fire Departments, PFFM praised Patrick Reynolds’ record of leadership on issues affecting first responders.

During your tenure as a Selectman, you stood out as a leader on issues that affect our members,” said PFFM President Mich Mackinnon Jr. In his letter endorsing Patrick’s campaign. “You understand how vital proper equipment and adequate staffing are to firefighters and citizen safety. You made yourself available to the firefighters in your community to gain a genuine understanding of the intricacies of our profession. We look forward to that leadership and approach from you on Beacon Hill.”

Attleboro Firefighters Local 848 President Paul Jacques endorsed Patrick’s campaign. Paul said “Patrick will stand for all working men and women of Attleboro and across the 14th Bristol District. He is the Representative we need to respond to and recover from this public health crisis.”

I’m so proud to be supported by the men and women of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts,” Patrick said. “As first responders, they have been on the frontlines of the Coronavirus pandemic, answering the call to keep us safe. As a selectman, I witnessed their professionalism and commitment to service firsthand, and was honored to support our community’s first responders. As a State Representative, I will make sure our fire departments get the training, equipment, and resources they need to keep us safe.”

This endorsement by PFFM adds to Patrick’s growing list of supporters and endorsers, which include both current and former local elected officials from Attleboro, North Attleborough and Mansfield, as well as five labor unions, including AFL-CIO, Mass Building Trades Council, Mass and Northern New England Laborers’ District Council, Laborers’ Local 138, and Roofers’ Local 33. Patrick is the only candidate in the race to be endorsed by organized labor.

Patrick Reynolds served two terms as a North Attleborough Selectman, including as chairman. As a Selectman, Patrick always fought for proper funding for public safety and fought to keep the Kelly Boulevard Fire Station open. Patrick was a leader of the “Unite for North” campaign, which increased funding for our schools and first responders. Patrick stood by this vital funding increase to town services in 2015—when it was politically unpopular—and was a leader in fighting for it again in 2018 when it won 57 percent support on the North Attleborough municipal ballot.

This endorsement underscores Patrick’s understanding that, now more than ever, we need elected officials who get results as we aim to recover from the Coronavirus pandemic. His proven record of leadership at the local level means he is ready to fight for the needs of first responders and the entire district on day one. Patrick is dedicated to ensuring North Attleborough, Attleboro, and Mansfield get their fair share of Coronavirus relief funding, and he will fight against potential cuts to vital services like first responders. He is ready to build on the progress we’ve already made to get small businesses and public education back on solid ground while fighting for working families across the district. Just as Representative Betty Poirier did so steadfastly and consistently, Patrick will devote his entire energies to excellent constituent services and working for the needs of the residents of the entire district while on Beacon Hill.
