North Attleboro High School Alumni Association announces election of officers

There is a new leader at the helm of the North Attleboro High School Alumni Association.

By a unanimous vote of its Board of Directors on Aug. 5, Patrick Reynolds, a member of the NAHS Class of 2014, was installed as the organization’s fourth president.

We couldn’t be more excited,” said out-going NAHS AA President Tom Pirri (Class of 2002). “Patrick brings a new and fresh perspective that will almost certainly allow the alumni association to continue to grow and flourish. He has shown an amazing commitment to North Attleboro, and our alma mater, and has a remarkable track record of service and accomplishment in our community, especially given his comparatively young age. We look forward to watching the alumni association having an even stronger positive impact under his stewardship.”

Reynolds is well-known to most residents. While still a senior at NAHS, he successfully ran for a seat on the town’s Board of Selectmen. The youngest person to ever hold that seat, he quickly emerged as a leader, serving multiple terms, including two stints as the Chairman of the Board, which at the time was the highest elected office in the town.

He has also been instrumental in creating positive change for the community, and specifically to the schools, as he played a driving role in the successful passage of a Proposition 2 ½ Override which boosted badly needed school spending.

Having completed his college undergraduate degree, and subsequent law degree, Reynolds is also currently a candidate for the Massachusetts State Legislature in the upcoming primary and general elections.

In accepting his new role with the NAHS AA, Reynolds thanked those who formed the group and have guided its launch since 2005.

I’m thankful for all the work that has been done the past 15 years,” said Reynolds. “It’s taken a lot of time, effort, and dedication to build a great foundation and momentum. I look forward to continuing that important work.”

Also elected to serve on the NAHS AA Board of Directors for the coming year were:

  • Tom Piri (Class of 2020) – Immediate Past President
  • Keith Lapointe (Class of 1993) – Past President
  • Mitch MacDonald (Class of 1979) – Vice President & Past President
  • Jack Johnson (Class of 1980) – Secretary
  • Sean Fisher (Class of 1993) – Treasurer
