City Spirits joins Lions Club for charity work
The SEMA Paws of Comfort Lions Club is having a wine for a cause fundraiser. Throughout October, City Spirits will donate 100% of their profits from the sale of Rough Day Cabernet Sauvignon & Rose to the club. All proceeds will go towards the community and Lions charities. Make a purchase at either City Spirits, 271 E Washington St., North Attleborough or at City Spirits, located at 524 Pleasant St., Attleboro.
Lions Club to host “Luck of the Draw”
The South Attleboro Village Lions Club will host its annual “Luck of the Draw” raffle night on Friday, Oct. 18, at the Social Portuguese, 17 Portuguese Social Club Way, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the drawing will start at 7 p.m. Admission is $25 for 100 chances.
There will be free coffee and tea all night, and people can bring their own food or snacks. No drinks from outside will be allowed. There will be sandwiches and snacks for sale, along with a cash bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The event will offer door prizes and free giveaways. Oldtown Church turkey supper
The First Congregational Church UCC of North Attleborough (Oldtown Church) is hosting a turkey supper, one serving, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. The menu includes home-cooked turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, butternut squash rolls, desert and beverage, served family-style.
The price is $15 for adults, and $7.50 for children 10 years old and under. $1 of each adult meal served will go to the Food Forward mission, to help feed those in need. Serving begins promptly at 6 p.m., so please plan to check-in at least 20 minutes in advance.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling Ed at 1-508-212-4774. Take-out orders are also accepted. The Vestry Hall is handicap-accessible through the rear entrance. Oldtown church is located at 675 Old Post Road, North Attleborough.
Spooktacular at Telford Park
Plainville Lions / Humphrey House will be hosting Spooktacular at Telford Park, Plainville, Route 1A on Oct. 19, with a rain date of Oct. 20. The event starts at 3 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. will include crafts, vendors, haunted gazebo, story time, music, food, drinks and trick or treating at 5 p.m.
At 4 p.m. will be the second Bark in the Park (costumes optional) with prizes awarded. Suggested entrance fee is a donation to North Attleborough Animal Shelter.
