In celebration of Fire Prevention Week (Oct.6-12), the North Attleborough Fire Department will host an open house as part of its efforts to support this year’s campaign “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!”
The open house will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The station is located at 50 Elm St.
There will be touch-a-truck and a water-flowing station where attendees will be assisted by firefighters in using fire hoses to spray a fake house. A smoke trailer will also be present, and attendees will be able to enter and navigate their way out on their
hands and knees.
Inside the headquarters, there will be food, coloring materials and safety handouts available.
In addition to the family activities, station tours will be conducted every 15 minutes. Community members will also have the opportunity to take photos with Sparky the Fire Dog.
