A man who was fatally shot on I-95 in Foxboro on the night of Feb. 3 has been identified by police as a North Attleborough resident.
Justin R. Parker, 37, was identified by Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey on Feb. 4 as the victim of the shooting.
In a statement, Morrisey said the incident occurred at 10 p.m. when Parker was driving a black Mercedes on I-95 in Foxboro. Parker was then allegedly shot by the driver of a dark-colored sedan. The Mercedes then swerved into a Lexus SUV driven by a family. The SUV crashed into the woods adjacent to the highway while the Mercedes swerved into the center of the interstate, according to police.
Parker was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he was pronounced dead, according to the DA’s office. The family inside the Lexus SUV did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
Morrisey said the investigation is ongoing and asked the public for any information regarding the dark-colored sedan.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen any part of this incident, or who may have seen one or more dark-colored sedans operating erratically or at a high rate of speed on Rte. 95 before or after the area of Exit 16 to call 781-327-9801 and speak with State Police assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office,” Morrissey said. “Anyone with information or suspicion as to possible involved vehicles or parties should contact investigators as soon as possible.”
