The South Attleboro Village Lions Club is running Operation Shoebox for soldiers overseas and the states, but will also be helping the families of active duty service members and veterans that are in their homes, in hospitals and the homeless. The items most needed are hard candy, cough drops, gum, jelly/peanut butter, tuna, ravioli, snacks, crackers, Slim Jims, peanuts, band-aids, first aid cream, gel shaving cream, flashlights, batteries of all sizes and more. The club is also looking for names and addresses of military serving overseas and in the states. If you have a loved one serving, please send us their name and address to momoce@aol.com or patlarry1980@comcast.net. Names will be accepted until Nov. 30.
