KyleCares donates $5,000 to Support DRRHS Partnership with the JED Foundation

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School has been awarded $5,000 from KyleCares. The financial gift from KyleCares will support Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School’s enrollment as part of the JED High School Program to improve mental health and prevent suicide among teens.

The Kyle Johnson Foundation, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting open and honest communication about the mental health challenges teens and young adults face in today’s society. The organization financially assists high schools and colleges with the implementation of mental health awareness and suicide prevention programs to better support their students.

KyleCares was founded by The Johnson Family, Jim, Sue and their daughters Katie and Lauren, in memory of their son and brother Kyle J. Johnson, a 19-year college student who died by suicide in April 2018. It was Kyle’s wish that open conversation and ongoing education around the topic of mental health and suicide would encourage others to seek the help and support they need.

The JED High School program will provide DRRHS resources to strengthen their behavioral health system and is dedicated to helping schools evaluate and strengthen the support for students’ mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention.
