Why are you running for this position?
I am running to continue to progress the North Attleborough school system. Six years ago when I ran, North schools were failing. In the past six years the committee has moved the district forward in many areas including offering full-day free kindergarten, providing Chromebooks to all students, and being invited by the MSBA to participate in a feasibility study for the high school.
What experience do you possess that would be helpful to the position for which you are running?
Six years on the committee has taught me how to work with the town and parents. The school department relationship with the town is on solid footing. We have produced a detailed budget that clearly shows how taxpayer money is being spent and what needs the district has. Since I have been on the committee I have continuously tried to bring accountability and trust to the residents.
What issues do you wish to focus on?
If re-elected, I would continue to advocate for all students and residents. I have been constant in my effort to increase funding for special education. I would also continue to advocate for the improvement of all school buildings. Although the budget does not support major improvements in the school buildings there are still ways to improve the space and make the learning environment better.
