The Board of Public Works has announced that the Household Hazardous Waste & Tire Amnesty Day, originally scheduled for Sept. 26, has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Department of Public Works Highway Garage, 240 Smith St.
The event provides residents with an opportunity to safely dispose of eligible household hazardous waste, including pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, oil-based paints, household cleaning chemicals, solvents, antifreeze, motor oil, auto batteries and passenger vehicle tires.
Participation is limited to North Attleborough residents with a valid 2026 Recycling Center Sticker affixed to their vehicle window. Residents will not be admitted without a current sticker.
Individuals may dispose of up to 10 gallons of liquid or paint waste and five passenger automobile tires. Latex paint, water-based paint, smoke detectors, explosives, ammunition, fireworks, gas cylinders, biohazardous materials and commercial or industrial waste will not be accepted.
For a complete list of accepted and prohibited items, visit the Town’s Household Hazardous Waste & Tire Amnesty Day webpage. Residents with questions may contact the Solid Waste Department at 508-699-0100, ext. 6537.
