Halloween Scavenger Hunt—Find all the bats and pumpkins and get a prize.
The SAFE Coalition Help Hours—The SAFE Coalition will be available in the library’s Middle Stack Room Quiet Study Area to meet with residents in need every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon. This initiative is in partnership with The SAFE Coalition and the North Attleborough Health Department.
SAFE is a judgement-free community organization relentlessly committed to educating and supporting those affected by substance use disorder and mental health concerns across southeastern Massachusetts. Staffed by trusted, trained professionals and peer support volunteers, SAFE compassionately empowers individuals and their loved ones by breaking down barriers to treatment and emotional support in a way that inspires success on the journey to recovery.
Story time—Head to the downstairs meeting room for stories, songs and a simple craft. The program begins at 10 a.m. and is great for children ages 0-6.
Community Fiber Arts Circle—Come crochet, knit, embroider and weave with fellow fiber crafters. Beginners welcome. There will be no direct teaching of fiber arts, but community guidance and sharing of ideas are greatly encouraged. Work on a project, make new friends and bounce ideas off of each other. Open to all ages and experience levels (recommended for ages 12- adult). Please call the library (508)-699-0122 and ask for the Reference Desk for more information.
Free tech help—Volunteer Ben Elliott, a computer support specialist, is hosting free IT hours at the library from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. If you need one-on-one help with a laptop, smartphone, or general tech stuff, please schedule an appointment by registering at https://befreeit.org/ or ask library staff for help. Elliot also offers free tech help at Wrentham’s Fiske Public Library on Tuesdays, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Plainville Public Library on Fridays, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 3
Halloween Costume Giveaway—The library is giving away gently-used costumes in all ages. Please limit to one costume per child or adult.
Have costumes to donate? Please bring them by the library anytime before Oct. 3. Costumes should be in good condition. Makeup or wigs cannot be accepted. Any leftover costumes will be available in the reading room beginning Oct. 5.
STEAM Cart—STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. There will be a different activity out each day. STEAM cart days are for children ages 3+ with an adult. Activities take place in the Children’s Room, are free play and not librarian led. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lapsit Story Time, Ages 0-18 months—This interactive story time builds early listening and motor skills through stories, music, and play. Begins at 10 a.m.

Take and Make Craft, Ages 2 to 6–Grab a bagged craft to make at home. Available while supplies last.

Chess and Checkers Club — Children ages 6+, teens, and families with an understanding of the games are welcome. Volunteers may be on hand to assist. Email Meredith at momalley@sailsinc.org with any questions. Please note that it is the library’s policy that an adult ages 15 and up remain with children ages 10 and under in the library. The club meets at 6 p.m.
