Falls and Whitings ponds are scheduled to be chemically treated for the control of algae on Thursday, Sept. 3.
The treatment is being conducted pursuant to a permit issued by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and an Order of Conditions issued by the North Attleborough Conservation Commission. Temporary water-use restrictions will be in place following the treatment.
Residents and visitors should not use the water at either pond for the following purposes until the dates specified:
• Swimming, boating and fishing: Sept. 4
• Livestock and domestic animal consumption: Sept. 4
• Drinking and cooking: Sept. 6
• Irrigation of turf and landscape ornamentals: Sept. 6
- Irrigation of food crops, production ornamentals and newly seeded turf: Sept. 8
