Play-doh Seashell Imprints—Explore the textures of Play-doh and seashells. See what imprints shells leave on the dough. This program is great for children ages 2+ with an adult and runs from 9 a.m.-noon.
Free tech help—Volunteer Ben Elliott, a computer support specialist, is hosting free IT hours at the library from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. If you need one-on-one help with a laptop, smartphone, or general tech stuff, please schedule an appointment by registering at https://befreeit.org/ or ask library staff for help.
Elliot also offers free tech help at Wrentham’s Fiske Public Library on Tuesdays, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Plainville Public Library on Fridays, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

STEAM Cart—STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. There will be a different activity out each day. STEAM cart days are for children ages 3+ with an adult. Activities take place in the Children’s Room, are free play and not librarian led. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dungeons and Dragons for beginners (Ages 10-14)—
10 a.m. — Beginners can learn about D&D and basics to get started.
10:30 a.m. — 12:15 p.m. — Adventure for everyone begins. Registration is required.
Monday, Aug. 17
Spice Packet Club: August edition—Spice packets are a great way to liven up your cooking or entertaining. Local small business The Native Kitchen will offer a monthly spice packet with an accompanying recipe for patrons to enjoy; their blends are always all-natural. This month’s packet is Tomato, Basil, and Oregano, bringing the taste of a sun-ripened garden. Packets will be available for pick up beginning the third week of the month.

Chess Meetup—Missing chess club? Come for a meetup to refresh your skills. Some experience of the game is expected. Ages 6+. This event runs from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.

This is a virtual (Zoom) program led by Ed Lawrence, the founder and principal of Getstart-ed, through which he offers practical job-search advice, résumé-writing services, and skills assessments to help people gain meaningful employment or transition to a new career. In addition, Ed is the official resume-writer and jobs coach for the Framingham Public Library; and an outplacement counselor for The White Hawk Group.
