The North Attleborough Fire Department recognized promotions, new hires and service milestones at a recent ceremony.
On Wednesday, July 1, the department hosted a promotion, swearing-in and service recognition ceremony at Station 3. The program opened with remarks from Assistant Chief George McKinnion and Presentation of Colors led by bagpiper and retired firefighter Richard McDonough. Fire Chief Christopher Coleman and Town Manager Michael Borg also offered remarks.
Deputy Chief Michael Bristol, previously promoted from captain in February, was formally pinned alongside Capt. Curt Chretien, Lt. Jeffrey Egan, and Lt. Thomas McGree, who were also promoted as part of the ceremony.
The department also welcomed its newest firefighters, including Jean St. George, Sam Gutwill, Aidan McKinnon, and Kevin McTomney, who were officially sworn in by Town Clerk Patricia McNielly.
“On behalf of the department, we are proud to recognize the hard work and commitment of those earning promotions, welcome our newest firefighters as they take the oath to serve our community, and honor the members whose years of service have helped shape this department,” Coleman said in the announcement. “These milestones represent their unwavering commitment to protecting our community. We thank them for all that they’ve done and will continue to do in their careers.”
The department recognized several firefighters for their dedicated years of service to the department and community. Recognitions spanning five to 35 years of service were presented during the ceremony.
