The Hockomock Area YMCA has launched a new fundraising campaign for a  splash park at its Hurley Family Branch. Designed as a welcoming space for children of all abilities and their families, the park will offer a place to play, connect and create lasting memories. Once completed, it will be the first splash park in the town of North Attleborough.

The project’s fundraising goal is $515,000, with $281,000 raised to date. To help bring this vision to life, the Y has launched a Member Campaign with a goal of raising an additional $75,000. Every gift—large or small—will help transform the outdoor space adjacent to the branch’s Aquatics Center into a dynamic, accessible water play environment.

“This project is about so much more than water features,” said Jim Downs, CEO of the Hockomock Area YMCA. “It’s about creating a space where every child feels included, where families can spend meaningful time together, and where our community continues to grow stronger through shared experiences. The Splash Park will embody everything the Y stands for—belonging, joy, and opportunity for all.”

The splash park will include several accessible elements designed for children of all abilities. Once complete, it will serve as a gathering place where families can cool off, connect and enjoy active play in a welcoming environment.

“Every gift truly makes a splash,” Downs added. “With the support of our members and community, we’re confident we can create something special that will benefit families for generations.” With the strength of this community fundraising effort, the YMCA aims to bring the new Splash Park to life by Summer 2027.
