Fire Chief Christopher Coleman announced that the North Attleborough Fire Department was awarded a Fiscal Year 2026 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant.
The Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) and the Department of Fire Services (DFS) have awarded the department $17,109.56 to purchase three complete sets of PFAS-free firefighting turnout gear.
“Firefighting equipment is a significant financial investment, but it is essential in ensuring the safety, effectiveness, and readiness of our first responders,” Coleman said in a statement. “While costly, these tools are not optional. We are grateful for the support of EOPSS and DFS in helping us make these critical investments.”
North Attleborough is among 307 Massachusetts departments awarded a share of $5 million to purchase new safety equipment.
