The 13th annual Bailey’s Run for Autism will take place on Sunday, April 12. This organized run is a professionally measured USATF certified course that begins at the Payson Street Recreational Complex in Foxboro. The fast, flat course encourages good race time. The run starts at 10 a.m., followed by an accompanying one-mile Family Walk. A Kids’ Dash for those 10 years old and younger will take place before the start of the race.
Please visit www.baileysteam.org to register. The entry fee for runners is $30 ($35 on race day). Kids’ Dash and Family Walk registration is free, however, donations are welcome.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three overall 5K winners (male and female) as well as the top male and female 5K runners in the following age groups — 12 and under; 13-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 and older.
And awards presentation will follow at 11 a.m. at Conrad’s Restaurant. The post-run gathering at Conrad’s is always a fun time for runners, walkers, friends and families.
Bailey’s Team for Autism is an all-volunteer, local, non-profit organization. It directs 90% of the dollars raised as grants to agencies across New England that provide programming, education and research in support of individuals living with autism. One in 31 children are diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Many individuals with autism require lifelong supervision, protection and care.
In February, Bailey’s Team awarded over $100,000 in grants. Since 2001, Bailey’s Team has raised over $1.6 million towards this mission.
