Keith A. Mueller, North Attleborough’s former information technologies director, has been arraigned in Rhode Island’s Third Division District Court on charges of second degree child molestation and sexual assault.

Town Manager Michael Borg confirmed with the North Star Reporter that Mueller is no longer employed by the Town of North Attleborough.

Borg provided the following statement:

“Keith Mueller is no longer employed by the Town of North Attleborough. As this is a personnel matter, no additional information will be released,” said Borg.

According to Rhode Island’s judiciary public records, the date of the alleged offense was Feb 24., 2025, and the filing date was March 25.

In a field arrest report provided to the North Star Reporter by the Plainville Police Department, Mueller was first arrested March 19 as a fugitive from justice on a court warrant. Mueller, a resident of 18 Taunton St. in Plainville, was booked at the Plainville Police Department before being transported to Wrentham District Court, where the fugitive from justice charge was dismissed on March 20 after Mueller waived extradition and agreed to voluntarily be transferred to Rhode Island District Court.

According to court records, Mueller, 51, was arraigned on the sexual assault charges on Wednesday, March 26, entered no plea, and was released on a $10,000 bond and ordered to have no contact with minors. A pre-arraignment conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 23.

Under Rhode Island’s general laws, the statute Mueller was charged with, 11-37-8.3, is defined as: “a person is guilty of a second degree child molestation sexual assault if he or she engages in sexual contact with another person 14 years of age or under.”

According to Mueller’s LinkedIn profile, he had been employed by the Town of North Attleborough since November 1998.
