Community members are advised that the Department of Public Works has contracted Gravity Construction to replace water mains and services on Alton Road, Ryder Circle, and a portion of Elmwood Street (between the Elmwood Street tank and the YMCA). Work has already begun and road closures and detours may occur during this time.
Working will occur Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those within the active work zone may need to move their vehicles prior to the 7 a.m. start time. Community members are also advised that there may be times that access to your driveway is not available, but Gravity Construction will work to accommodate residents whenever possible.
During the water main replacement, the existing water line will be used to continue to deliver water to residences on Elmwood Street. A temporary bypass will be installed for residents on Alton Road and Ryder Circle. There will be scheduled shutdowns of the water system throughout the project. Residents will be notified at least 24 hours in advance of any interruption in service.
Residents are asked to have their trash and recycling at curbside by 6:30 a.m. for pickup.
