Town of North Attleborough Invites Community Members to Attend 9/11 Remembrance Ceremonies

The Town of North Attleborough invites community members to join town officials in honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the courageous first responders at two remembrance ceremonies.

This year, the town will host two ceremonies to honor the victims of 9/11 and recognize the sacrifices of the first responders who lost their lives in the aftermath. Community members are encouraged to participate in these observances, which will take place
at the following times and locations:

The primary ceremony will be held at North Attleborough High School’s Raymond Beaupre Field, 1 Wilson W. Whitty Way, at 9:30 a.m. In addition to all North Attleborough community members, local schools will also attend to reflect on this solemn day.

This student-led ceremony will feature performances from the North Attleborough High School Choir and guest speakers Ryan and Patrick Nassaney, family members of Shawn Nassaney, a Pawtucket man who lost his life during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Following the observance at the high school, community members are then invited to join the North Attleborough Fire Department at the Baptist Church Common at 11 a.m. During this ceremony, members of the fire department will lead the tolling of a ceremonial
bell, followed by a moment of silence in tribute to all civilians, first responders, airline staff, Port Authority workers, military personnel at the Pentagon, and families who lost loved ones in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001.
