Andrea Slobogan.
Why are you running for this position?
I love North Attleborough and want to continue being a strong voice for our residents. I believe in practical, solution-driven leadership that prioritizes growth, responsible decision-making, and community engagement. Over the past few years, I’ve worked to support local businesses, improve economic development and foster collaboration between the town and its residents. I want to continue that work, ensuring that our town is not just maintaining but thriving. My focus is on finding ways to say “yes’ while making smart, sustainable choices that benefit both families and businesses.
If elected, what issues would you like to focus on?
Economic growth and smart development are priorities—I want to support small businesses, enhance our downtown, and create a town that attracts investment while maintaining its character. I also want to focus on transparency and efficiency in town processes—ensuring our licensing, permitting, and business regulations are fair and accessible. Additionally, I care about improving community engagement by making local government more approachable, supporting events that bring people together, and finding ways to say ‘yes’ rather than ‘no’ to good ideas that benefit the town.
What sets you apart from other candidates?
I bring a blend of leadership, creativity, and hands-on problem-solving. I’ve worked in both corporate and nonprofit settings, led large-scale projects, and helped drive real change in town—from revitalizing events to advocating for fairer business policies. I don’t just talk about ideas—I make things happen. My ability to bring people together, find common ground and think outside the box helps me turn challenges into opportunities. I’m deeply invested in this community, and my track record proves I’ll show up, do the work and fight for what’s best for North Attleborough.
What are some areas that the town has improved upon, and what remains to be done?
We’ve made great progress in supporting local businesses, revitalizing community events, and fostering economic growth, but there’s still work to do. The licensing and permitting process needs improvement to make North Attleborough more business-friendly. We also need better strategic planning for long-term growth, ensuring we attract the right kind of development while preserving the town’s character. Transparency and communication between boards and residents can be stronger, and we should continue creating opportunities for community engagement that help people feel connected and heard in town decisions.
Being part of a board requires one to be a team player. Does your background lend you to working well in this environment?
Absolutely. I’ve spent my career working with diverse teams across industries—whether in corporate settings, nonprofit leadership, or local government. I know how to listen, collaborate, and find common ground while still pushing for progress. I approach every discussion with a solutions-focused mindset, ensuring that decisions aren’t just about debate, but about getting things done. I’m comfortable working with different personalities and perspectives, and I believe the best results come from open conversations, mutual respect, and a willingness to adapt when needed.
