Gilbert Lefort II has been appointed as North Attleborough Public Schools’ new director of finance, according to an announcement.
The School Committee voted to appoint Lefort as the position earlier this month. He will begin in his new role on June 3, replacing Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Catherine Blake.
Lefort most recently served as the school business operations manager for North Attleborough Public Schools and was responsible for overseeing the office’s functions and personnel in the absence of the assistant superintendent for finance and operations and coordinating the development of the annual operating, revolving and capital budgets. Among his many other responsibilities, Lefort also monitored district-wide expenditures to ensure budget alignment.
Prior to working in North Attleborough, Lefort worked in the human resources division at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Executive Office for Administration and Finance from March 2014 to June 2022. While working in the human resources division, Lefort was promoted twice, culminating in his role as the assistant director.
“I am thrilled to welcome Gilbert Lefort II to our leadership team,” Superintendent John Antonucci said. “In his two years as our school business operations manager, he has distinguished himself as a great colleague who possesses a strong business acumen, a strong work ethic and exceptional interpersonal skills. I am confident in his abilities, and I am looking forward to working with him in his new capacity.”
Lefort received his masters of business administration from Nichols College and a bachelor’s degree in human movement and sports science from Sacred Heart University.
