North Attleborough Around Town: Summer Festival, Strawberry Festival, Leo Larocque fundraiser

Community Center of North Attleborough hosts Summer Fun Festival

The Community Center of North Attleboro is hosting its outdoor Summer Fun Festival at its location at 104 North Washington St., downtown North Attleborough, on Sunday, June 11, from 12-4 p.m. Local artisans from North Attleborough and the surrounding area will be offering handmade arts, live music will be featured, and local food and kid’s activities will be available. Axel, North Attleborough’s favorite pooch, will also be onsite for photos. The Community Center has openings for artisans (art, craft and food) and they are welcome to apply by using the link www.communitycenterna.org/events. Fundraiser for Leo Larocque and family

New World Realty is throwing a fundraiser to raise money for Leo Larocque and his family on Friday, June 16, from 2-5 p.m., which also happens to be the last day of school in North Attleborough. This will be held at the office at 178 Park St. Baked goods and lemonade will be sold, and raffle baskets with donations from local businesses will be available for bidding. Palagis Bros. Ice Cream will have their ice cream truck there for a portion of the event and will be donating 10% of sales to the cause.

 

DANA’s annual Strawberry Festival returns

The eighth Annual DANA (Downtown Associates of North Attleboro) Scent-Sational Flag Day – Strawberry Festival will take place on Sat., June 10, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Veterans Park in front of Town Hall.

Treat the senses as the community welcomes “Summer Downtown” with food, free games and family fun. The DJ will keep everyone entertained and the famous Strawberry Shortcake has a new twist—choose a new chocolate cake base for the shortcake or the original biscuit.

Join the Patriotic Parade – bicycles, tricycles, wagons and wheels (carriages, scooters, wheelchairs and walkers) all are welcome to participate. Meet in front of Town Hall at 11 a.m. The parade will proceed through Veterans Park and will end at the gazebo. There will be judges and three top prizes.

Oldtown Church Pet Vaccination Clinic

The First Congregational Church UCC of North Attleborough (Oldtown Church) will hold its next pet vaccination clinic for dogs and cats from 11 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 24, at 675 Old Post Road, North Attleborough.  Please call or text 508-212-4774 or email eclavette@oldtownucc.org for information, fees and to make an appointment for vaccinations, heart-worm tests, or deworming.

Vaccinations and tests are individually priced, without additional clinic or other fees. Rhode Island residents and walk-ins are welcome. Pre-registration via phone or text is preferred.  Appropriate social distancing is encouraged. Pets will be received outside the building.

All cats must be in carriers and dogs must be on leashes, with muzzles as necessary.  Services will be provided by Dr. Peter Granville DVM. The entrance for the vaccination clinic is in back of the church, to the rear of the parking lot, follow the signs. Please remain in the vehicle until called.
