The order of the candidates for the April Town Election was finalized at a meeting of the Election Commission.
The commission met on Feb. 24 for this step in the process to set the ballot for the April 6 Town Election. This election will see 12 candidates face off for nine seats on the Town Council. There is also a contested race for two seats on the Board of Electric Commissions. Candidates for the School Committee and Board of Public Works are running unopposed. One one-year seat on the Board of Public Works has no candidates.
During the meeting, Commission member Jean Colleran opened individual envelopes with the names of each candidate. The envelopes organized by which race in the election and the names read at random. These were then passed to member Nancy Vigorito for confirmation. Neil Lambert then placed the names on a ballot sheet in the order that they were read.
