The crowds filled the parking lot and fields at the town’s middle school for the 43rd annual North Attleborough Firefighters Kids Day.

The weekend featured a lot of events that included fireworks on Friday and Saturday, bike giveaways each day to one boy and one girl, Northeast Championship Wrestling on Saturday, concerts all weekend long and a lot of rides and games.

“I have been here three times, and my favorite part about the event is the amount of food options that this fair has every year,” said Ryan Connolly from North Attleborough “My favorite ride definitely has to be the tilt a whirl ride.”

Emma Kelly from western Massachusetts made it to North Attleborough to celebrate her first Kids Day in town.

“I’ve never been here before, so to learn about the culture and community is really exciting to me and see what else that they have to offer here,” she said.

The event has been held every year in July since 1980 by the North Attleborough Firefighters Kids Association. The organization is a nonprofit, with the mission being to raise funds for those in the community who need it the most.

The main source of this fundraising is the four-day Kids Day event that consists of food, music, carnival rides, parades, fireworks and many other activities for all families to enjoy. All entertainment on stage is paid for through a corporate sponsor program.

Saturday afternoon was filled with families all across the middle school with their children running around and going on as many rides, and playing as many games as possible – among them Darrin Bendor and Seamus Holt.

“My favorite ride is the Ferris Wheel, because it goes so high up in the sky,” said Bendor. Her friend Sheamus followed her up by saying “My favorite ride is Hyperspace because you go really fast.”

There were so many various rides and attractions all across the field, but the consensus favorite from over the weekend was Hyperspace. The way that it goes so fast makes people feel like they are on an actual rocket ship.

Amanda Coucol and Kieran Meehan discussed their favorite part of the event, with Meehan saying “The best part of the event is being able to play games with the kids”.

“Anything that our kids want to do, we are all in on and they love all the rides, and games, so it’s a happy time over here,” Coucol said.
